Who Will You Shepherd?

2 Samuel 5:2 – Also, in time past, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lordsaid to you, ‘You shall shepherd My people Israel, and be ruler over Israel.’”

Growing up, we raised sheep in our back lot. It was one of my jobs to make sure the sheep were fed everyday, had water to drink and put safely in the barn each night. I understood that it was my responsibility to care for the safety and well being for those sheep so they could grow and thrive. Each one of us has that same responsibility to our loved ones around us.

In today’s passage, the Lord told David, “You shall shepherd my people Israel”. David understood that it was his responsibility to care for the safety and well being of Israel so that Israel could grow and thrive. For quite a while, he did just that. You too have been given that same charge to care for the spiritual safety and well being of the family and friends that the Lord has placed around you so that they too can grow and thrive in their walk with Jesus. Today, who will you shepherd?

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
