1 Chronicles 23:1-3 – 2 And he gathered together all the leaders of Israel, with the priests and the Levites. 3 Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and above; and the number of individual males was thirty-eight thousand. 4 Of these, twenty-four thousand were to look after the work of the house of the Lord, six thousand were officers and judges, 5 four thousand were gatekeepers, and four thousand praised the Lord with musical instruments, “which I made,” said David,“for giving praise.”
Occasionally, I hear the phrase, “it’s not my job”. Normally, it means someone who does not want to put in a little extra effort to help out others. “It’s not my job”……..I don’t like hearing it at work, at home, or at church.
Today’s scripture reminded me that a church consists of many different people, doing many different things all for the good of God’s Kingdom. People often assume that church is about the pastor teaching at the pulpit, but that would be incorrect. Church is about a family of people with different skills and talents coming together for the glory of God. I encourage all of you to look at your church differently. No longer complain about all that is wrong or not getting done, rather remember that it is your job to do your part to make your church all that God would want it to be.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
