Keep It Simple

Proverbs 7:1-2 – My son, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye.

Our church just completed a study of the Book of Ecclesiastes which is often compared to the Book of Proverbs. Both, it is believed, were written by King Solomon (the richest and wisest man to ever walk the face of the earth) and both give us Godly advice on how we should live our lives. As you study both books, it is interesting to see the similarities.

In today’s passage we are told, “keep my words, And treasure my commands within you.” This is very similar to the last word of advice that we read at the end of the Book of Ecclesiastes. Life without God is useless. If we are to live a life worth living, we must keep it simple — keep my words, And treasure my commands within you.” In other words, our life is not about us, it is strictly about honoring and serving God, “keep my words, And treasure my commands within you.” As life gets crazy and hectic, remember to keep it simple.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
