Still a Leper

2 Kings 5:1 – Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper.

People will often compare themselves to others and consider how great their lives could be if they had more money, power, fame. It is assumed that the “rich and famous” live a life that is more comfortable, more stress free than what we must face each day. It might be a good thought, but being “rich and famous” does not determine your life.

In today’s passage we are told of “Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria,….great and honorable man in the eyes of his master“. Yes, a powerful and successful man, but he was still “a leper“. It may be hard to imagine, but trials, pain and suffering comes to all people. What can make your life more enjoyable and less stressful is Jesus and only Jesus. The rich get sick, the powerful become broken, the famous fall from grace. It is Jesus and only Jesus that can take us and make us whole.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
