Selling God Short

2 Kings 13:19 – 19 And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”

If you could have anything you wanted, what would you ask for? I suspect that most people would be apprehensive to ask for exactly what they want. Often times in our walks, we do the same to God. We are told to bring all of our requests to God, yet when we make those requests, we often “sell God short” and only ask for what we “think” we deserve.

In today’s reading, Elisha the prophets told the king to strike the ground with arrows. The king struck the ground three times, “And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.” God tells us to strike the ground, yet we are afraid to strike like we want. As you pray, keep striking the ground until the Lord tells you to stop. Remember, don’t sell God short.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
