Your Past Does Not Define Your Future

Isaiah 43:25 – 25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.

At the funeral of President Richard Nixon, President Bill Clinton said the following when addressing the audience, “may the day of judging President Nixon on anything less than his entire life and career come to a close”. Many know of President Nixon for Watergate, but we often forget the good he did for the world before and after that transgression. To paraphrase President Clinton, one mistake does not define who you are or who you can be. In other words, your past does not define your future.

In Isaiah 43:25 we are told, “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.” We have, and will sin in our lives, but Isaiah reminds us that it does not have to define who we are. God promises that He “will not remember your sin” and for that reason, we should take comfort in knowing that we can have a different future. Take time today to repent for the sins in your life and take comfort in trusting that when you repent, God will forget.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
