Ezra 3:10-11 – 10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. 11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
One of the most important steps in the construction of a building is setting a good foundation on which the structure can be built. This step is so important that it is safe to say that without a good foundation, the structure will never be stable and safe. Many people will focus on the building, but pay no attention to the foundation. Are you paying attention to your spiritual foundation?
In today’s passage we read of Israel coming together to build the temple of the Lord. But, before they could complete the temple, they had to first set the foundation, “Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.” Have you taken the time and necessary steps to set your spiritual foundation so that you may build your temple (your body) to worship the Lord? Take time today to make sure your foundation is set, secure and stable.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
