The Curse of a Lie

Genesis 12:17-20 – 17 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife. 18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife? 19 Why did you say, ‘She is my sister’? I might have taken her as my wife. Now therefore, here is your wife; take her and go your way.” 20 So Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him; and they sent him away, with his wife and all that he had.

What is it that causes people to lie? Fear, weakness, desperation? We are tricked into believing that telling a lie will make things better for us when in reality it will always make things worse for you and those around you. In today’s scripture we read, “But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.” Abram lied about Sarai being his sister and it cause the Pharaoh to be plagued. Lies will never lead to blessings but will always result in plagues and curses. I pray for all of us today that our tongues will speak truth and bring honor and glory to the Lord.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
