Your History

Ezra 7:1-6 – Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah, the son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub, the son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth, the son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki, the son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest— this Ezra came up from Babylon; and he was a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel had given. The king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the Lordhis God upon him.

In today’s scripture we are reminded of the lineage of Ezra who “The king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the Lordhis God upon him.” May this passage be a reminder to all of us that we all come from a family and a lineage. What we do, what we say will have an impact on not only us but on generations to come. Will you be a blessing to your family line or will you be a blemish. Choose today to honor your God and your family by serving the Lord.

I pray for blessing today for you on your Journey!

World Peace

Zechariah 2:10-11 – 10 “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the Lord. 11 “Many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.

I think it is safe to say that most people want world peace. In fact, most world leaders will talk about how they want to unify the world and bring peace into certain regions. Unfortunately, with each world leader, great ideas come and great ideas go, never really reaching the goal of world peace. In fact, it seems as though world peace (even peace in the U.S.) is becoming harder and harder to achieve.

In today’s passage we are told “11 “Many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst.” While many people want world peace, most people fail to realize that we will never achieve it until “ I will dwell in your midst.” To know peace, we must first know the Prince of Peace. As you pray for peace each day, first pray for the world to know Jesus; only He can unify us as one.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!

Return to Me

Zechariah 1:3 – Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.

We like to do things on our own terms. With the advent of technology and the internet, it has become very easy, and is expected, to get what we want, how we want it and when we want it(thanks Amazon Prime!). Because everything is so easily accessible, it has changed how we see things and our expectations about everything.

In Zechariah we read, “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,”  Unfortunately, our expectations about God have also changed. More and more, we expect God to be who we want instead of who He is.  We have changed and re-defined God to meet our needs instead of changing ourselves to meet God’s expectations. My prayer for us all is that we will “Return to Me” today on God’s terms and expectations and not our own.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
