Exodus 22:9 – 9 “For any kind of trespass, whether it concerns an ox, a donkey, a sheep, or clothing, or for any kind of lost thing which another claims to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whomever the judges condemn shall pay double to his neighbor.
People will sometimes convince themselves that the “benefits” of their sin outweigh any consequences they may endure. Unfortunately, they are incorrect. In today’s passage we read, “both parties shall come before the judges; and whomever the judges condemn shall pay double to his neighbor.” There will always be payment for our sins and, yes, we will be held accountable before God. If we repent, we will receive forgiveness, but we will still be forced to deal with the “reality” of our actions. Jesus has already paid the price for our sin, but we will always have to face our consequences.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
