Your Battles Today

Numbers 20:1 – 20 “When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.

Remember, the battles you will face today are not yours to fight. “do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you,”. Spend your time praising and giving thanks  to the only One who can fight and win your battles.

Very Superstitious

Numbers 18:10 – 12 – 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.

You find around you people who are superstitious. Athletes refuses to shave, change socks or other things if they are doing well. Others refuse to do certain things or will do certain things because they are superstitious. In other words, they think that what they do has an impact on the outcome of a situation. In today’s Word we read, “12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.” Superstitions are an insult to the Lord. When we think we control our future, we take our future out of His hands. Spend your time focused on the Lord not funny rituals that ultimately have no impact on your future.

Who Gets Blessed

Numbers 14:22-23 – 22 “You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. 23 And you shall eat before the Lordyour God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.

So often, when we hear the word, “tithe”, we immediately think of having to give up something, mostly our money. We think of it as a sacrifice, but rarely see it as a blessing. In today’s Word we read, “23 And you shall eat before the Lord your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks,”. In other words, the one who gets blessed by your tithe is you. Many people may say that God does not need their money and they are correct. But, God does need your heart and we all need His blessings that flow for our tithes.

What We Need Most

Numbers 11:13-14 – 13 ‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.

With all the violence that we have experienced over the past several years, many people have attempted to determine the best ways to best protect people. There will always be debates and discussions about what is best, but in my humble opinion, what we need most is to “love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,”. What seems to be missing most from our country is a love for the Lord. We will never get to where we need to be without Him. All other attempts will sadly fall short.

Love and Obedience

Numbers 11:1 – 11 “Therefore you shall love the Lord your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always.

Many people assume we get to Heaven by “being nice”. Yet, in the Bible we are told that what is most important is that we “love the Lord your God”. Once we have established this love for the Lord and are growing in His love we can, “keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always.” Love gets us to Heaven, obedience shows that love to all around us.

This is a Test

Deuteronomy 8:2 – And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

At times, it is heard to see what good comes from the trials and struggles. By faith that we press forwarding trusting that the Lord’s hand is at work. Today’s scripture states, “And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.” Perhaps the good that comes from our struggles is the fact that we have honored the Lord and passed His test. The struggles and sacrifices we make here on earth will be greatly rewarded in Heaven.

Take Time Today

Numbers 6:20-23 – 20 “When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments which the Lord our God has commanded you?’ 21 then you shall say to your son: ‘We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand; 22 and the Lord showed signs and wonders before our eyes, great and severe, against Egypt, Pharaoh, and all his household. 23 Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.

It easy to be so focused on the trials in front of you that you forget about the miracles of yesterday. Take time today to give thanks to the Lord for the blessings and miracles He has given to you in the past. Take time today to give thanks to the Lord for the blessings and miracles He will give you today and tomorrow.

Strength to do What is Right

Numbers 6:18-19 – 18 And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land of which the Lord swore to your fathers, 19 to cast out all your enemies from before you, as the Lord has spoken.

On a daily basis we are challenged to do what is right — not do what is right for the world, but what is right with the Lord. May today’s Word be an encouragement for those today that are facing this exact choice to do what is right in the Lord’s eyes. He will give you the strength to take a stand, He will give you the covering to protect you and through your stand, He will bless you so that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land of which the Lord swore to your fathers,”

You Shall Have No Other Gods

Numbers 5:7 – ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.

With busy schedules, conflicting commitments and just life in general, it is easy to get distracted. We can also begin to forget about God and replace Him with other things/people in our lives. In today’s Word it says, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Above all else, above all others, we must make sure that we do not allow people or things to replace the one, true, only God in our lives. He must come before all others. He must be above all others. He is all you need today, tomorrow and forever.

God’s Promises to You

Numbers 5:3 – The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive.

We read of so many promises that the Lord made to people in the Bible, yet we forget that He makes those same promises to us. In today’s passage we read, “The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive.” Remember, God is not just the God of the Bible, but He is the God of your life. God’s promises are just as real and alive today because He has made them to you. And, just as God fulfilled His promises to people in the Bible, God will also fulfill His promises to you today.
